Therefore, if election is essential to God, then so is creation. Further, election and incarnation are constitutive of the divine being. But then, since creation is logically implied by election and incarnation, creation is constitutive of divine being.

Second, for Barth, as I noted before, it is the trinitarian nature of God, and the divine attributes established in and by that trinitarian nature, which makes election and incarnation possible.

How is that for McCormack? One would think that at least there has to be divine willing, and also divine power. But what would make it the case that these, different from all other divine properties, precede the divine choice, instead of following it? And what should be said about their nature, if these are not, like all other divine properties, constituted and determined by Jesus Christ? This leads to the third problem: not only what properties, but also, what subject precedes the divine choice?

We can use necessarily, like Barth does. If McCormack takes God to enjoy necessary being, the essential act of the election of Jesus Christ would also be a necessary act. There is no absolute or objective morality. If there was an objective morality, you could just show how you got the knowledge.
